Basketball Recap: Mira Loma Takes a Loss

Mira Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-10 loss at the hands of the Center Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-6 back in January.

Reniaya Applin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Center, dropping a double-double with 31 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Applin has scored at least a third of Center's points. Another player making a difference was Laylarae Blake, who posted nine points along with seven steals and five boards.

Mira Loma's loss dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Center, their victory bumped their record up to 6-22.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Loma will take on Oakmont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Center, they will square off against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
