Jefferson Academy barely beat Englewood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 21-7 victory on Saturday. The Jaguars have beaten the Pirates the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pirates has come to flipping the script.

Ellie Arnold was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Mooney, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.

Jefferson Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .705. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Englewood only posted an OBP of .333.

Jefferson Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Englewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
