After only one run in their last game, Erie made sure to put some runs up on the board against Frederick on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Golden Eagles 14-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Erie got a great performance from Sophee Horovitz as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, Keyanna Reeves was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Braelen Heer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Erie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Erie is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Frederick, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.
Erie wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-1 victory against Fairview on the 8th. Hopefully Frederick paid attention to the Tigers' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
