Soccer Recap: Mainland Comes Up Short

Mainland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Cocoa Beach Minutemen, falling 12-1. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 470th, while the Minutemen are ranked 108th).

Mainland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cocoa Beach, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mainland will take on Father Lopez in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cocoa Beach and Bayside will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
