Softball Recap: Chamblee Wins Going Away Against Mcnair

Chamblee put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. They blew past the McNair Mustangs 17-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Stella Barton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 13 matchups.

In other batting news, Avery D'Auria was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 13 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Thompson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI, and one run.

Chamblee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.

The win got Chamblee back to even at 9-9. As for McNair, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Chamblee has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 victory against Woodward Academy on the 24th. As for McNair, they will venture away from home to face off against Jasper County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
