Soccer Game Preview: Boardman vs. Hubbard

The Boardman Spartans will challenge the Hubbard Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hubbard took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Boardman, who comes in off a win.

Boardman's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Harding 4-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 21, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Boardman hit Harding with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Oswaldo Salinas (2), Evangelos Coutris, and Mamadi Toure.

Meanwhile, Hubbard unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Cardinal Mooney by a score of 3-2.

Hubbard's loss dropped their record down to 9-4-1. As for Boardman, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-7-3.

Boardman beat Hubbard 2-0 in their previous matchup back in August of 2022. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
