Recap: Mira Loma Matadors vs. Sacramento Adventist Capitals

If the Mira Loma Matadors were riding high off their 47-23 takedown of the Johnson Warriors on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mira Loma was outmatched by Sacramento Adventist at home and fell 64-7. Mira Loma was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-1.

When it comes to explaining why Mira Loma lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Demi Tawadrous. Despite the final result, she scored 5 points.

Mikayla Meza had an outrageously good game for Sacramento Adventist as she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Fowler, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Mira Loma has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 3-4 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.7 points per game. As for Sacramento Adventist, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Mira Loma will head out on the road to face off against Bradshaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bradshaw Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Sacramento Adventist won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Denair at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Denair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1004th, while Sacramento Adventist is ranked 220th).
