Softball Recap: Lewis Central Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Lewis Central entered their tilt with Shenandoah on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Emerson Coziahr spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lewis Central got a massive performance out of Camryn King, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave King a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cami Damgaard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Lewis Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lewis Central's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Shenandoah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Lewis Central will head out to face off against Harlan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shenandoah, they have already played their next contest, an 8-0 defeat against Creston on the 17th.
