Recap: Hammond Tornadoes vs. Belle Chasse Cardinals

The Hammond Tornadoes's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Belle Chasse and snuck past 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Hammond's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justin Harland, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Charles Armstrong, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

Loss or not, Belle Chasse got some senior leadership from Kyle Reeves who scored 21 points along with two steals and Jaylen Hughes Ingram who scored 16 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of MJ Bacani, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Hammond pushed their record up to 13-8 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Belle Chasse, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hammond will take on Fontainebleau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Belle Chasse will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against John Ehret at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th.
