Alisha Mcmurtry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bellevue East has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Millard West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bellevue East couldn't quite finish off Millard West when the teams last played back in August of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Chieftains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
