Baseball Recap: Proctor Comes Up Short

If Proctor was riding high fresh off their 13-2 takedown of Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rails fell just short of the Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] Wolverines by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rails of the 9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Proctor has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia], their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.

Coming up, Proctor is taking a road trip to challenge Hermantown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
