Basketball Recap: Barstow's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Barstow ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Adelanto Saints, sneaking past 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Aztecs have posted against the Saints since December 29, 2021.

It was another big night for Emersyn Ebel, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Jade Chavez was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

When it comes to explaining why Adelanto lost, don't look at Nyomi Sanchez. Despite the final result, she shot 7-for-13 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. Those 29 points gave Sanchez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ka'Lonie Mack, who posted four points and four steals.

The win snapped Barstow's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-11 record. As for Adelanto, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Barstow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-27 loss against Victor Valley on the 29th. As for Adelanto, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-41 victory against Granite Hills on the 29th.
