Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Darlington). They breezed past the Lakewood Gators to the tune of 43-0 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their 12-point performance the game before.

Darlington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deron Ross out in front who rushed for 58 yards and one score on only five carries. Zireon Shannon was another key player, rushing for 48 yards and one touchdown.

With the win, Darlington broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Lakewood, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Darlington and Lakewood will both be playing South Florence the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Gators will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 9th.
