Recap: Katella Knights vs. Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies
It was a good run, but the Katella Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Godinez Fundamental 44-40. Katella has not had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Godinez Fundamental's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julissa Mota led the charge by scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Valerie Esteban, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Katella's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Godinez Fundamental, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Katella will take on the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Segerstrom knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully the Knights likes a good challenge. As for Godinez Fundamental, they will be playing at home against the Argonauts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Garden Grove has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 3.
