Softball Recap: Seward's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Seven must be Seward's lucky number: they beat Gering with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Bluejays beat the Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-5. That's more bragging rights for the Bluejays, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lauren Frihauf was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Ali Theobald also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Seward and bumps their season record up to 7-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Gering, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Seward wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Ralston on the 20th. As for Gering, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against North Platte on the 20th.
