Softball Recap: Festus Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Festus entered their tilt with Perryville on Monday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Tigers have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Aubrey Doyle, who gave up just three hits to keep Perryville off the board.

At the plate, Keeleigh Hankins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Ava Oberle was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Festus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The last time their batting average was this high was September 3rd.

Festus' victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Perryville, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Festus will head out to face off against Seckman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Perryville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Saxony Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
