Football Game Preview: Archbishop Hoban Knights vs. Central York Panthers

Archbishop Hoban has won six straight games at home, while Central York has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Knights will welcome the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Archbishop Hoban is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Glenville, who was ranked 17th at the time (Archbishop Hoban was ranked fourth). The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-9 victory over the Tarblooders on Friday. The 12-point effort marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Central York challenged Red Lion on Friday. The Panthers claimed a resounding 56-18 win over the Lions. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six games by 25 points or more so far this season.

Archbishop Hoban better focus on containing Legend Johnson and Brooklyn Nace as the pair were huge in Central York's win. Johnson rushed for 167 yards and three TDs on only eight carries, while Nace threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Hristos Panopoulus got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Central York's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Archbishop Hoban, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
