Football Game Preview: Palmyra Cougars vs. Red Land Patriots

The Palmyra Cougars will face off against the Red Land Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Palmyra headed into their last game having not scored more than 13 points for six straight, but Gettysburg let them put that streak behind them. The Cougars walked away with a 43-35 victory over the Warriors on Saturday. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Red Land, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down Shippensburg 23-7 on Friday. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Patriots were the (much) better team in the second half.

Red Land's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Palmyra, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-5.

Palmyra ended up a good deal behind Red Land in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 21-7. Thankfully for the Cougars, Brady Seyler (who rushed for 235 yards and one TD, and also caught one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
