The Brentwood School Eagles will take on the Centennial Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brentwood School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Heritage 80-45. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Patriots are ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brentwood School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelsey Sugar, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 steals. With that strong performance, Sugar is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lev Feiman, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points along with six boards and three steals.
Brentwood School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in 15 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Centennial had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Spartans 66-43.
Centennial's win came from a few key players Brentwood School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cydenee Bryant, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 36% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Ahjoy Turner was another key player, going 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points.
Brentwood School has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.2 points. As for Centennial, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Brentwood School has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Brentwood School came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, sneaking past 52-49. Will Brentwood School repeat their success, or does Centennial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
