Basketball Recap: Riverside Christian Academy Skates Past Wake County Academy Homeschool with Ease

Riverside Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Wake County Academy HomeSchool Wolves 85-45. While the Royals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Moises Gonzalez, who shot 64% from the field on his way to 19 points and five assists. The game was Gonzalez's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Poston, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

Riverside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Riverside Christian Academy's record now sits at 7-3. As for Wake County Academy HomeSchool, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Riverside Christian Academy will welcome Kid Stars Rising Christian Learning Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' defense better be ready for this one: the Stars have averaged an impressive 58 points per game this season. As for Wake County Academy HomeSchool, they are taking a road trip to square off against Cresset Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
