Eagle River took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Bettye Davis East Anchorage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Thunderbirds on Saturday. The Wolves were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Thunderbirds, so the Wolves were just returning the favor.

The win made it two in a row for Eagle River and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Bettye Davis East Anchorage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Eagle River has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Chugiak on the 23rd. As for Bettye Davis East Anchorage, they will face off against South Anchorage at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The match will give the Thunderbirds their first taste of in-conference action this season.
