Softball Recap: Thomasville Bulldogs vs. Brantley County Herons

Thomasville fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Brantley County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 6-1 to the Herons. That makes it the first time this season the Bulldogs have let down their home crowd.

Ava Simpson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Thomasville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Hurst, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Thomasville's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Brantley County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.
