Baseball Game Preview: Rome Wolves vs. New Manchester Jaguar

The Rome Wolves will face off against the New Manchester Jaguar at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rome is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Rome needed a bit of extra time to put away New Manchester. They came out on top against the Jaguar by a score of 13-10. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Rome got a massive performance out of Jackson Slatky, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Slatky has become a key player for Rome: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 4-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of James Matheny, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Rome was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.

New Manchester is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10. As for Rome, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
