Basketball Recap: Healdsburg Falls Short of Moreau Catholic in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Healdsburg can now relate to. They lost to the Moreau Catholic Mariners on the road by a 47-30 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Mariners are ranked 128th).

Elisa Ortega was her usual excellent self, going 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points for Moreau Catholic. Kylah Isidro was another key player, putting up nine points.

Healdsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Moreau Catholic, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-7.

Healdsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Moreau Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-27 victory against McKinleyville on the 22nd.
