Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Sean Guffey stepped things up a notch to give Washington-Liberty the 'W'. George C. Marshall had no answer to Guffey as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Guffey a new career-high.

Coming up, Guffey and Washington-Liberty will host Herndon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Generals got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Hornets thanks in part to Guffey: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
