Basketball Recap: Alice Ortega's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Woodlake over Strathmore

Woodlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 57-31 to the Strathmore Spartans. The Tigers were down 51-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Woodlake lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alice Ortega, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracelyn Castillo, who posted 11 points.

Woodlake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Strathmore, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Woodlake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-23 win against Alpaugh on the 21st. As for Strathmore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 36-25 victory against Exeter on the 18th.
