St. Francis barely beat Loyola Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Ramblers a 13-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Spartans have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was St. Francis' fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Loyola Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Coming up, St. Francis is taking a road trip to challenge Bartlett at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Loyola Academy, they will be playing at home against Grayslake Central at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
