Soccer Game Preview: Ridgeview vs. Garces Memorial

The Ridgeview Wolf Pack will challenge the Garces Memorial Rams at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ridgeview headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Wasco let them put that streak behind them. Ridgeview put the hurt on Wasco with a sharp 4-1 win on Tuesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Ridgeview hit Wasco with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jasmine Gonzalez-Romo (2), Alexis Chavez, and Sophia Espinoza.

Meanwhile, Garces Memorial had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past Independence 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Rams were the better team in the second half.

Ridgeview now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Garces Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Ridgeview came up short against Garces Memorial in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Ridgeview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
