Baseball Recap: Midtown Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

On TuesdayMidtown's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Tucker Tigers 3-1. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Alec Sevigny, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Sevigny is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Wooten, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Midtown's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Tucker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Midtown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against Union Grove on the 18th. As for Tucker, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
