Soccer Recap: Olympian Comes Up Short

Olympian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Crusaders are ranked 169th).

Olympian's goal came courtesy of Maya Urias, who's now up to two this season.

Olympian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Mater Dei Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olympian will take on Eastlake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mater Dei Catholic, they will challenge Bonita Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bonita Vista is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.
