Soccer Game Preview: Schurr vs. Alhambra

The Schurr Spartans will square off against the Alhambra Moors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Schurr didn't have quite enough to beat Mark Keppel and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 698th, while the Aztecs are ranked 222nd).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Alhambra brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Their defense stepped up to hand Montebello a 5-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Moors, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Schurr has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12-1 record this season. As for Alhambra, they now have a winning record of 7-6-3.
