Soccer Game Preview: Scotts Valley vs. Santa Cruz

The Scotts Valley Falcons will take on the Santa Cruz Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scotts Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Scotts Valley's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Harbor, sneaking past 1-0. The Falcons' winning goal came courtesy of Taylor Ericson.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Santa Cruz's offense. They fell 2-0 to Soquel on Thursday. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

The victory got Scotts Valley back to even at 4-4-3. As for Santa Cruz, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Scotts Valley beat Santa Cruz 2-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scotts Valley since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
