Football Recap: Markevion Jones Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Burke County + How To Watch

Thomson hadn't done well against Burke County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Bears by a score of 24-14. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Thomson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Markevion Jones out in front who rushed for 111 yards and one score on only eight carries. Jones got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 66 yards. Another player making a difference was Zay Brinson, who rushed for 31 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Burke County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jamari Reeves, who rushed for 70 yards and one TD.

Thomson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Burke County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.
