Softball Recap: Yutan-Mead Picks Up Ninth Straight Win on the Road

Yutan-Mead won the last time they faced Cass and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Patriots have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Adie Gale was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 12 games. Another player making a difference was Addi Jones, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Yutan-Mead was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cass only posted a batting average of .118.

Yutan-Mead pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Yutan-Mead will be taking part in a tournament against Mercy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cass, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-3 victory against Syracuse on the 11th.
