Basketball Recap: Cedar Comes Up Short

Cedar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs. The Reds were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Cedar still got an impressive performance from Ty Rowley, who went 11-for-17 on his way to 32 points and four steals. Rowley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Luke Englebright was another key player, putting up six points.

Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Crimson Cliffs, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Cedar will challenge Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Reds will be up against the Thunder's rather soft defense (which has allowed 53 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Crimson Cliffs, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Copper Hills at 8:10 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will be up against the Grizzlies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
