Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Senators vs. Dunlap Eagles

The Springfield Senators will square off against the Dunlap Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Springfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Litchfield on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Purple Panthers by a score of 7-6.

Karter Marks was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Scheffler, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Dunlap came up short against Freeburg on Saturday and fell 5-2. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly three runs.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dunlap, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.
