Basketball Recap: Jurupa Valley Takes a Loss

Jurupa Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Patriot Warriors 57-24. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 65-35 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kayla Gonzalez was her usual excellent self, going 16 for 28 on her way to 37 points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds for Patriot. Gonzalez's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karla Hernandez, who posted no points along with seven steals and four blocks.

Jurupa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Patriot, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Jurupa Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 29-27 loss against Norte Vista on the 21st. Patriot has also already played their next contest, a 67-43 defeat against Ramona on the 21st.
