Baseball Recap: Pellston Takes a Loss

Pellston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Rudyard Bulldogs. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 16-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pellston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Bonter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Pellston's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Rudyard, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pellston will host Inland Lakes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rudyard, they will face off against Newberry at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
