Basketball Recap: Roseville Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Roseville's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 52-31 margin over the Casa Roble Rams. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Roseville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashlyn Kelley led the charge by going 7 of 16 en route to 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Calee Bookhart was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten steals.

Bailey Maloney and Natalie Mathiesen certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Maloney posted 11 points and seven rebounds, while Mathiesen had five points. That was a full 35.5% of Casa Roble's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Roseville's victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Casa Roble, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Roseville Tigers duke it out with the West Park Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Casa Roble, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-34 win against Del Campo on the 11th.
