Augusta E and Greenville H squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Augusta E had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 5-4. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Eli Poteet was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Poteet wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathanael Reese, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Augusta E's record now sits at 16-7. As for Greenville H, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Greenville H beat Augusta E by a score of 12-5 on Saturday.
