Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Wellington's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Roosevelt by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since September 21, 2024.
Taylor Morgan put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Severance hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .457. However, it's not like Wellington struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Severance was able to grind out a solid victory over Wellington in their previous meeting back in September, winning 6-2. Will the Silver Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
