Softball Recap: Dakota Ridge Drops Season-High Score on Conifer

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dakota Ridge). They put the hurt on the Conifer Lobos with a sharp 16-3 victory on Monday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 15-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Avery Andrews was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. Lexi Bortscheller was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Dakota Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dakota Ridge's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Conifer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dakota Ridge will venture away from home to take on Green Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Conifer, they will take on Thornton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
