Softball Recap: Timnath Comes Up Short

Timnath extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5-1. They came up short against the Northridge Grizzlies, falling 10-3. The Cubs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Timnath saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Rummel, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Northridge, the win got them back to even at 2-2. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

On Northridge's side, Brooke Riofrio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Riofrio has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Naomi Propes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Maya Burkholder was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Timnath has already played their next matchup, an 18-6 win against Thompson Valley on the 2nd. As for Northridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 victory against Valley on the 2nd.
