Baseball Recap: West Forsyth Find Success

West Forsyth won the last time they faced Alpharetta and things went their way on Monday too. The West Forsyth Wolverines came out on top in a nail-biter against the Alpharetta Raiders, sneaking past 4-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ryan Morgan tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of West Forsyth's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, West Forsyth's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Ponche, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

West Forsyth now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Alpharetta, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

West Forsyth will have a chance to go back-to-back against Alpharetta: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
