Hurricane might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Cedar who claimed the real prize. The Hurricane Tigers fell 28-21 to the Cedar Reds. The Tigers have struggled against the Reds recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Hurricane still got an impressive performance from Dylyn Gabriel, who threw for 118 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 85 yards. That's the most rushing yards Gabriel has posted since back in August of 2023.
A big part of Cedar's win came down to the chemistry between Everett Kelling and his top target Dylan Crowley. Hurricane's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cedar, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
