Baseball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crisp Academy last Tuesday, Grace Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Cougars took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Grace Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Smith is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-2 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

Grace Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-1.

Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, they will face off against Brookstone at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2.9, the Cougars 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
