Braintree tries for third-straight Division I championship. Also watch out for Bishop Feehan, Central, Duxbury and Andover in the Massachusetts #MaxPrepsFab5.

2015-16 Massachusetts Preseason Girls Basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Braintree
Head coach:
Kristen McDonnell
2014-15 record: 25-0

The Wamps have won back-to-back Division I championships, including a perfect 25-0 season last year. Braintree loses the bulk of last year's starting lineup, including All-Scholastics Super Team members Molly Reagan and Ashley Russell and All-Scholastics member Bridget Herlihy. However, senior Brianna Herlihy, who averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds last year, returns.

2. Bishop Feehan (Attleboro)
Head coach:
Michael Deady
2014-15 record: 20-3



The Shamrocks fell to Braintree in the Division I South championship game last year and they lost 1,000-point scorer Maddie Jolin to graduation. However, junior Katie Nelson, who has committed to Boston University, and senior Lauren Manis both return. Nelson averaged 13.2 points per game while Manis put in 10.3 points.

3. Central (Springfield)
Head coach:
Erik Maurer
2014-15 record: 21-6

Central lost to Braintree in the Division I championship game last year, but the Golden Eagles do not lose any players from that team. Central's top players included three sophomores, a freshman and a junior with sophomore Ishanna Brown (15.7 ppg) leading in scoring and sophomore Alayah Sweeney adding 10.5 points per game.

4. Duxbury
Head coach:
Bob Sullivan
2014-15 record: 26-0



Duxbury won the Division 2 state championship last year, defeating Medfield 51-42 for the crown and a perfect 26-0 record. Coach Sullivan loses four starters from last year's squad, including 6-foot-4 Molly Quilty and 6-1 Catherine Harrison, but returns senior Emma Gill.

5. Andover
Head coach:
E.J. Perry
2014-15 record: 22-3

Andover fell to Braintree in the semifinals of the Division I state playoffs, but two of the team's leading scorers return. Junior Alyssa Casey led the team in scoring as a sophomore with 17.4 points per game. She also led the team in rebounds with 8.5. Another junior, Jillian Webber returns after averaging 9.7 points and 7.2 rebounds last year.
