Softball Recap: Bennington Has No Trouble Against Columbus

Bennington had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Columbus on Saturday. The Badgers blew past the Discoverers 12-4. Considering the Badgers have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Redmond was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Brooklynn Fitch was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Bennington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Bennington now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Columbus, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Bennington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-1 defeat against Elkhorn on the 20th. As for Columbus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-7 loss against Norfolk on the 20th.
