Basketball Recap: Hannah Millett Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Neumann Regional Academy

It's playoff time, and Meadowbrook Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over the Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Meadowbrook Christian has posted since December 7, 2024.

Meadowbrook Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Millett out in front who went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Millett has become a key player for Meadowbrook Christian: the team is 11-3 when she posts at least three steals, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Fasnacht, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points and five steals.

Neumann Regional Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Niyah Tutler, who posted eight points along with six assists and five boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Sophia Reid was another key player, putting up eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Meadowbrook Christian and bumps their season record up to 15-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points over those games. As for Neumann Regional Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Meadowbrook Christian has already played their next match, a 31-23 win against Columbia County Christian on the 21st. Neumann Regional Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
