Baseball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Springs on Friday, Centennial came back down to earth. The Knights lost 9-2 to the Riverwood Raiders on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 9-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Centennial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Cheng, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Juan Pablo Rivas also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Centennial dropped their record down to 2-2 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Riverwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Centennial will take on Roswell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Riverwood, they will face off against St. Pius X Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
